A Little Bit About Me

Hello! I am Emily, a 27 year old lettering artist & graphic designer living in Saint Louis. I love designing, drawing, painting, crafting, but my favorite thing to do is hand lettering! There is something about drawing words and phrases that brings them to life. During the day you can find me designing art for a home décor company, Willliamson Home. In most other hours I run my business, selling hand lettered products in local shops and online. If you can’t already tell… I eat, drink and sleep design. I am currently growing my design library including a few of my favorite books so far: “In Progress” by Jessica Hische, “Hand Lettering 101,” “Creative Lettering and Beyond” and the newest addition is “Mind Your Business” by Ilana Griffo. My favorite Pantone color is 7472.

I have been a creative person my whole life and am a huge design dork. My dad was a graphic designer and creative director, so I grew up seeing the agencies he worked at and learned to appreciate art at an early age. In May 2016, I graduated from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, with a BFA in Graphic Design and a BA in Psychology with an Art History minor.

While in school, I was a student graphic designer for the Morris University Center Marketing Department creating posters, flyers, tickets, and coupons for the departments in the main building on campus. In my last year, I designed two large murals that went down two hallways. I spent my summers interning at Cheree Berry Paper Company where I mainly helped with the production of wedding invitations and stationery, working with a talented group of designers and looking up to Cheree.
